Farewell to Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2

Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 (including all service packs) were retired in 2020.

Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 reached the ends of their lives in January 2020. The operating systems are no longer supported by either Microsoft or Burli.

While Burli still seems to work on Windows 7, based on past experience, the latest versions of Burli will start to fail on Windows 7 at some point in the coming months as core modules and technologies inside Windows evolve.

In other words, the versions of Burli Newsroom now being released may not work properly (or perhaps at all) on Windows 7. Burli NE no longer runs at all on Windows 7.

The good news is that Burli works very well (no known issues) with  more recent Windows operating systems, including Windows 11 and 10 and Windows Server 2019 and 2022.

Also note that support for Microsoft’s SQL Server 2008 database ended in early July 2019.
