With Burli in your newsroom, remote users have full access to the latest wire copy, RSS feeds, faxes, e-mails and audio from the newsroom. A clear, standards-based web interface that runs on virtually any browser on virtually any device — including iPhones, iPads and Blackberries — gives authenticated users access to the news they need while they're not in the newsroom.

And it's not just news stories: your reporters have full remote access to scripts and rundowns, the contacts database, their assignments and the archive. So looking up a phone number, checking the address for a press conference or downloading a useful clip from the archive are all quick and easy to do - from wherever the news takes you.

File via the web
Reporters can file their stories - both text and audio - into a Burli-equipped newsroom from any web browser. They just log-in to the newsroom and can write text and attach audio cuts. The stories are uploaded right into the system and appear ready-for-use, exactly as though they had been created at a newsroom desktop.

Using the acclaimed First Video suite of Apps from Vericorder, mobile journalists record and edit audio on their iPhones, type cues or intros to match, and send the text and audio directly into Burli. For editors in the newsroom there's no importing, converting or tracking down separate copy sent by e-mail — it all appears in the system together and ready for use.

iSO apps from companies like Tieline and Luci can send audio cuts directly into Burli via FTP. Or your correspondents can e-mail the stories from their iPhones. Burli imports audio files both in standard PCM wav and Apple's own AIFC format used natively by iOS devices.

Burli makes it easy for reporters, stringers, or occasional contributors to send material into your newsroom without needing any kind of access to your system. Burli recognizes any standard audio files attached to incoming e-mails. So all your stringers need is an e-mail address to file to and Burli does the rest, combining audio attachments with e-mails to create a new story in the system.
