Burli is very easy to use. The workspace has been designed in part by journalists frustrated with newsroom software that makes you flip between screens or use complex computer commands for the most basic and often-repeated news editing tasks.
Simple, Clear workspace Burli's workspace displays both incoming data and your work-in-progress on one screen. Reading wire copy or listening to audio feeds requires just a click or two of the mouse. Incorporating incoming material into your work is a simple matter of dragging it down the screen with the mouse. Sharing your finished work--be it audio or text--is simply a matter of dragging it up the screen and dropping it in a filter, folder or remote location.
Efficient working environment
Burli's ergonomic design lets journalists get right to work. For example, to create new text or audio item at any time requires a single key-stroke. There is no time wasted opening menus and sub-menus, providing filenames or opening a new module just to write some copy or record audio.
Integrated Audio Editing
Burli's audio editors are integrated right into the main workspace and they were part of the original program, not a later addition for radio reporters. That means audio moves seamlessly through all parts of the news production process and never gets lost or disconnected from other elements.
Powerful editing
Simple doesn't have to mean under-powered. Burli's editing and organisation tools are second-to-none in terms of features and flexibility. We doubt you'll find a better audio editor anywhere for radio news production. But the key is: Burli's features are simple to learn, use and find. After all, what good are tools your users find too cumbersome to look for or load?
Designed around radio journalists
It may sound obvious, but it doesn't always happen this way: Burli is designed by people who've actually worked as reporters, editors, audio engineers and presenters. We know that in most newsrooms most users spent most days doing the same handful of tasks. And so Burli reflects that, making those tasks as simple, logical and accessible as possible. Yes, Burli has leading-edge features and sophsticated architecture, but we never forget what journalists really need from their newsroom system.
