Canadian broadcast school adds Burli to curriculum
VANCOUVER, CANADA - Columbia Academy, one of western Canada's leading broadcast training programs, has installed Burli's Newsroom System.
News gathering, editing and broadcast using Burli will be an important component of the curriculum at Columbia Academy beginning in the new year.
"Giving students relevant workplace skills and experience is critical to broadcast schools," says Burli Software President, Stefan Ellis. "We're excited that Columbia Academy considers Burli a must-have skill for its students."
There is clearly market demand for students with experience on Burli -- Burli is already the news editing system of choice in a substantial majority of radio newsrooms in the region. Vancouver's two major radio stations, CKNW and CKWX, both use Burli for all their news production.
Burli is also a staple of broadcast training programs across Canada. A majority of the schools in the country's Broadcast Educators Association now include Burli as part of their curriculum.
