Burli launches Traditional Chinese version

News production software adds Asian language support

VANCOUVER, CANADA -Burli, the newsroom computer system for broadcasters, has added Traditional Chinese to its growing list of language versions. The Traditional Chinese version features a user interface entirely in Chinese – including all menus, controls and screen instructions. Chinese-language news sources are also supported.

“Burli takes its international markets very seriously,” says Stefan Ellis, President of Burli Software Inc. “This Chinese-language plug-in is continuing evidence of our commitment to serve the full breadth of the international newsroom market.”

With the traditional Chinese plug-in, Burli also introduces support for the double-byte character system. Many non-European languages require the format to display complex alphabets or character systems.

Traditional Chinese is just one of Burli’s innovative language plug-ins. The system allows several languages to be run simultaneously in one newsroom from one server and lets users switch language interfaces on-the-fly, without having to close their work or restart their computers.

In addition to Traditional Chinese, Burli is available in English, French, German, Dutch, Frisian, Spanish, Portuguese, and Italian. Support for additional European and Asian languages is being added.
