March 28, 2001
Leading station in Calgary to install news production software
VANCOUVER, CANADA - CHQR-AM, QR77 News|Talk|Sports, the leading news-talk radio station in Calgary, Canada has chosen Burli as its news production software. The station will install 20 Burli workstations for its journalists. Station reporters, editors and anchors will produce almost 60 news and sports bulletins a day using the system. CHQR's sister stations, Power 107 FM and Country 105 FM, will also install the system for producing their own newscasts and interview recording and editing.
CHQR is the fourth major Canadian radio newsroom to move to Burli in the first three months of this year. Vancouver's two competing 24-hour all-news newsrooms and the leading radio newsroom on the Prairies, CJOB Winnipeg, all installed Burli in February.
Burli is already the news production software in both the English and French all-news radio stations in Montreal, and is currently used in radio and television newsrooms in Toronto, Vancouver, Halifax, Victoria and many smaller Canadian cities.
