CJOB moves to Burli
February 03, 2001
Manitoba's Information Superstation installs new editing software
WINNIPEG, CANADA - CJOB, the leading news-talk station on the Canadian prairies, is now on-air with Burli. Station reporters, editors and anchors are producing more than 60 news and sportscasts a day using the news production software. CJOB's sister station, Power 97, is also using the system for drive-time newscasts and interview recording and editing.
CJOB's Chief Engineer, Jack Hoeppner, says moving to Burli was an obvious choice. "We realised the time had come to move to a platform with more encompassing features needed to drive the number one Winnipeg newscentre," Hoeppner said. He adds the transition from another editing system was smooth, and calls Burli's support, installation and training "methodical and patient."
Hoeppner also says CJOB's use of Burli's industry-leading features will grow. "In a few weeks time we expect to open up other features that will great enhance the capabilities of our newscasters, such as automated text and voice filing and remote Internet connections to the newsroom," he said.
